It’s been two weeks since we first debuted our quaint little town of Nomolulu in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and it’s time to check back in. A new town is a growing town, and Nomolulu has all kinds of fun shenanigans develop. New residents have moved in, public works projects have been completed, a tropical island was unlocked, and then some. Aspen and I have been putting plenty of blood, sweat, and bells into our work. Catch a glimpse of some of our work in the Nomolulu Chronicles: Vol. 2 at the link below.

Honey Garlic Adventures: Part 1

Anthony and I had a pretty great weekend.  It was the first time since summer that we both had the full weekend off.  We took advantage of it with some pampering, errands, drinks, and quality time around the house.  A few days back we picked up some pork and at Anthony’s request he wanted it “crispy.”  We decided to pull out a recipe from our favorites to make while we finally got around to watching Chef.  What’s great about the Double Crunch Honey Garlic Pork Chops recipe from Rock Recipes  is that you make double the amount of needed breading and sauce.  That got us thinking… what else could we bread and fry with this deliciousness?  Chicken!  Over the next few days we’ll roll out our review of Chef and our Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken Drumsticks recipe, but let’s start with the pork!

Broccoli Parmesan Fritters

I was a pretty picky eater as a kid.  Verses Anthony, who would eat pretty much anything… But I grew up a chicken-nuggets and plain-cheeseburgers kind of kid.  My parents still seem to be in shock anytime I send them a picture of the newest piece of raw fish I’m trying nowadays.  However even as a picky kid I always liked broccoli.  That was the one veggie I’d happily enjoy, although usually I liked it covered in melted cheddar or drowning in cheese soup.  But my pallet has grown up, and so has my appreciation for using veggies in new and fun ways.

So I present my favorite grown-up broccoli recipe, Broccoli Fritters!

My Write-Up of the Symphony of the Goddesses

SymphonyoftheGoddesses

On Friday night Honolulu’s Blaisdell Concert Hall was blessed by the sounds of The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses. performed by the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. I was fortunate enough to attend the event, my first orchestral concert, and came away thoroughly impressed with the experience. Fans came out in droves, some even in full costume, to celebrate a franchise that was clearly near and dear to many hearts. The show began promptly at 8:00 and carried on with two acts:

  • Act I
    • Overture
    • Gerudo Valley
    • Boss Battle Medley
    • Suite from Majora’s Mask
    • A Link Between Worlds
    • Prelude ~ The Creation of Hyrule
    • Movement I ~ Ocarina of Time
    • Movement II ~ The Wind Waker
  • Act II
    • Intermezzo ~ Great Fairy’s Fountain
    • Movement III ~ Twilight Princess
    • Movement IV ~ Time of the Falling Rain (A Link To The Past)
