15 Games to Watch for in 2015

It’s time to look forward to the exciting slew of games on scheduled for release in the coming months. After a bit of research, Aspen It together a quick list of 15 games we’re looking forward to on PC, Wii U, and the 3DS in 2015 Click the link to see our full watch list.

PC
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Release Date:2015

Few games have grabbed hold of my attention with such a death grip as Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I’ve been following the dev team video diaries on Youtube for months and it’s clear Warhorse is pouring an awful lot of thought and care into their game. The attention to detail is incredible, and if the devs manage to pull off the level of immersion they hoping for, Kingdom Come will be an experience all its own.

Tom Clancy’s The Division
Release Date: 2015

I’m trying to remain cautiously optimistic about The Division. The concept of a post-apocalyptic, open-world multiplayer game is incredibly enticing, but 2014 was in many ways a mishmash of half met expectations for Ubisoft. I’m not running out to preorder The Division just yet, but I am going to give the dev team the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best. Mostly because their concept is so grand that meeting expectations would create an incredible game.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
Release Date: 2015

It’s been far too long since the last addition to the Rainbow Six franchise. Siege looks to be a minor reboot of the series, with a new emphasis on scenario based multiplayer gameplay between SWAT units and criminal antagonists. The gameplay shown so far looks to accommodate to a variety of play styles, leaving each match feeling unique. This is easily the top shooter on my list for 2015.

Beef & Veggie Medley

It’s good to be back in the kitchen.

1/7 1

Well, truth be told we haven’t really left the kitchen for the past three weeks.  The holidays are a great excuse to try out new and intricate recipes.  It’s always fun to pull out the stops for a meal, but where we do best is our weekday evenings where we just create with what’s in the fridge.  It’s a way to destress and do something fun and creative to end the day.

Last night we took some of our favorite meal items and created something pretty tasty.  The Beef & Veggie Medley was inspired by craving steak kabobs; we took that idea and added some Asian-influenced flavors to spice it up.

2014: Our Year of Gaming

2014 was a year accented with the beeps and boops of video games. Even more so than usual. While we’ve always enjoyed gaming together, recent events such as moving to Honolulu have made it difficult to stay current with gaming trends. Luckily, this past year served as the harbinger of of digital bliss that is modern gaming. Let’s take a look back at some of the things that defined our year of gaming. Fair warning, there may be some spoilers that accompany this one.

Nintendo broke back into our living room in a big way.

After holding out from buying new consoles for what seemed like an eternity, we finally took the plunge and bought a Wii U for our apartment. Six months and a whole lot of gaming later and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. Nintendo’s new home console, despite a rocky launch, seems to have solidified its place in current era of gaming with a consumer friendly price-point, a solid library of games, and plenty of potential for future success. The resurgence of our relationship with Nintendo didn’t end with the Wii U either.

After years of being out of the handheld gaming loop I found the inspiration to pick up a 3DS. Before the 3DS I was skeptical that I could find enough “on-the-go” opportunities to justify a commitment to handheld gaming, since then however I have certainly changed my tune. Games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and Pokemon: Ruby are incredibly easy to pick up and play, so much so that my 3DS has seen equal use to our Wii U.

Kielbasa Sandwich

Kielbasa Sandwich

What an amazingly lazy way to ring in the New Year!  We spent most of the day on the futon watching football.  After a nice afternoon nap we moved on to dinner, Kielbasa Sandwiches.  I can’t say this is our first recipe because it’s a pretty easy assemble, but it was tasty enough to deserve a post.

Kielbasa Sandwich

We used this as an excuse to try out our homemade sauerkraut that I made for Anthony’s birthday.  It’s pink because I used half red cabbage in the kraut.  Recipe will come for the kraut in the future!

Kielbasa Sandwich

We heated up some kielbasa and the sauerkraut on our skillet.  Once it was all ready we did the kielbasa and sauerkraut on a pretzel bun with munster cheese and German mustard.  We were going to pair with potato pancakes, but after a day of drinking we opted for some easier tater tots. 🙂
